WEST END PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANIES ORGANIZE
Property management companies on the West End of Galveston Island have organized the Galveston Island Vacation Rental Managers Association (GIVRMA). GIVRMA’s mission is to promote the vacation rental industry in Galveston. The group plans to work with local authorities and homeowner associations on a variety of issues – from beach cleaning and security to good neighbor policies within West End subdivisions.
According to Anne Reiswerg, Rental Manager at Sand ‘N Sea Pirates Beach, “the West End is booming – we have more people than ever coming down and renting houses for two days to a week or longer.” She says these visitors are important to the local economy. “Not only do they enjoy our beaches, but they also shop, go to restaurants and tourist attractions and contribute significantly to our Hotel Tax funds. We want to make sure that these visitors have the best possible experience during their time on the Island.” At the same time, the property management companies are aware of their responsibilities to the communities in which the rental properties reside.
