charge of the nominations and election for this years board.
Speaker of the day, Councilwoman Dianna Puccitti addressed the
audience on the city's next and largest project, which is the
beach re-nourishment program for the West End of the island. Bermuda
Beach has been identified as the most critical area and shall
be the first to receive the benefits of the city's labor. Meetings
are now underway with this goal as the focus.
Councilwoman Puccitti also advised the group about the new water
tower that will service our area has been completed and new pipe
to supply that water is currently being installed. This entire
project is scheduled to be completed by March 2001. Bermuda Beach

new facility.

The city is now taking the initiative, and because of this, FEMA
funds may become available to us for any later replacement. The
city has no funds; thus the BBIC has provided funding that is
matched by (CEPRA) Coastal Erosion Response Protection Act 3,
three dollars for every one advanced. The goal of $50,000 then
became $200,000 for the project. The exact usage of brought in
sand and the rebuilding of dunes is under study by the firm of
Shiner & Mosley. Questions, answers, concerns and suggestions
were discussed.

and the GLO with regard to issuing permits to home owners on the
front row in regard to repairs and rebuilding the beach front
properties. Hopefully this issue will be settled in the near future.

line as we did during the regular "seaweed" season this
year. It was explain that TAMUG's DR. Jim Webb suggested this
as a compromise.
