F. Agenda Items
1. Front row vacant lot maintenance fees: Proposal to go to the
next step (mailing out ballots) to amend the Deed Restrictions:
Motion Passed
That all lots South (seaward of Bermuda Beach Drive) which are declared to be un-buildable will be exempted from any maintenance and security fees of Bermuda Beach Homeowner Association until such time as said property is re-determined to be buildable. At such time all maintenance, and security fees will be reinstated and all maintenance and security fees previously exempted will become due and payable without late fees or other charges on the next annual date dues are due to Bermuda Beach Improvement Committee.
2. Proposed By-Law Amendments
A. In all places in the by-laws where it refers to Bermuda Beach
Section 1 through 5, there will be added "add the un-platted
section". Motion Passed
B. Any term limit restrictions on any of the
directors or Officers of Bermuda Beach Improvement Committee will
be removed. Motion Passed
3. Speed Hump(s) on Pabst Rd
1. Do not meet the requirements of 500 cars per day
2. The street must not be an identified primary route for emergency
vehicles as defined by the Galveston Fire and Police Departments
and EMS (page 3 of their handout)
Issue closed as there was no one that signed up to speak.
4. Sea Weed Raking - Issue closed as no one signed up to speak
5. Other New Business - Jerry Sweeney requested that the board try to do something to get rental owners to take more of the responsibility on what happens on their property. Large groups, trash and other issues. The board was requested to write to each rental agency and to property owners of rental properties. It was also suggested that a "flyer" or some type of document be placed in rental homes so that visitors will know what the Bermuda Beach rules are.
G. Nominating Committee Report - Leonard Tatar
1. Election The current board will remain for the 2006 year
This year's recommendation of the Nominating Committee was to keep the same slate of Board members and have the Board recruit two Advisory Directors for the upcoming year. No nominations from the floor were forthcoming. Upon motion and seconded, the Nominating Committee's recommendation was adopted and the previous Board was re-elected by acclamation.
