
Sea Turtles have returned to Galveston Island to nest. Please be aware of nests when walking and playing on the beach. If you think you've found a sea turtle nest, or find an injured or dead turtle, please contact authorities immediately. Telephone the police if you do not have these numbers available to you.

If law enforcement is needed, please call: 1-800-792 GAME (Injured turtle in the water or you see a turtle being discarded by a boat. If possible take a photo, and write down the name or number of the vessel.
Sea Turtle Tours: Visit the NOAA Sea Turtle facility here in Galveston at 4700 Avenue U. Free tours to see endangered (Kemps ridley) and threatened (Loggerhead) sea turtles are every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10 A.M., 11 A.M., 1 P.M. and 2 P.M. Telephone 409 766 3670 for information.
