It is very important to report all incidents even if it seems a small infraction of the law. This is how the City determines how many officers it needs to cover the entire west end. Questionable behavior, a car passing repeatedly, window broken, door ajar might factor in to some pattern the detectives are working on. Little pieces make up the puzzle. We have had a break-in in Bermuda Beach. There is also a rash of doors being kicked in and HD TVs taken in other subdivisions on the West End.

Compliments, comments and complaints are always welcome.

To email one of the Sgt's about and incident or about one of their officers the following addresses should be helpful. It's always better to put it in writing even though you can leave messages on the Sergeants direct line above. For all the officers email addresses use the first initial last name@cityofglaveston.org

West Isle Commander: Lt. H. Porretto hporretto@cityofgalveston.org
West Isle Day watch: Sgt C. Simmons csimmons@cityofgalveston.org
West Isle Evening: Sgt. J. Stewart & Sgt. M. Oliver
West Isle Night: Sgt. P. Contenta & Sgt. D. Elliot

Personal video surveillance is now reasonable and readily available for DIY installation. For information on this type of security contact Kathy at 281-687-4578. These units allow you to set up 2, 4, or 8 camera views and access these cameras live via the Internet and on your Iphones. The DVR records up to 30 days of continuous footage and allows you to gain access of the recorded files on your computer remotely from home. There are less expensive units that record but you cannot access files live via the internet. Be sure to read the box. They look very similar. Additional information may be found on www.swannsecurity.com Hurricane blinds are also a huge hindrance to break-ins.

Be aware of your surroundings and teach this to your kids.
